I was born in Detroit in 1957, and remained there until I graduated from college in 1976.
Motown will always be my Hometown, so I follow events there with interest, albeit from afar.
Given it's dire circumstances right now, I was gratified to see that Detroit had been chosen to host Netroots Nation 2014.
Egberto Willies has published a wonderful diary on the front page here in which he reflects on his recent Netroots Nation experience.
"Network Nation 2014 in Detroit, a recommitment to the fight for a return to moral policies."
In it he extensively quotes remarks made by Rev. William Barber.
In his address, Rev. Barber gives numerous examples of the "extreme and immoral" behavior of our government.
